Sunway Velocity Mall ushers in the Mid-Autumn Festival with lantern parade and games

Sunway Velocity Mall is celebrating the spirit of reunions this Mid-Autumn festival season with its Autumn Memories campaign which reportedly includes a lantern parade, exclusive merchandise and a pomelo peeling contest to name a few.
The campaign name "Autumn Memories", highlights the importance of reunion and completeness among family and friends, according to The Star.

The launch featured a lantern parade titled, ‘Lit-Up Memories’, which saw 600 people in attendance and aimed to connect individuals from various backgrounds. There were also performances by Sunway University’s 24 Seasons Drums Team, a pomelo peeling contest and photo spots decorated with lanterns that contain riddles.
The launch of the campaign also saw Sunway Velocity Mall’s senior general manager Phang Sau Lian writing on the calligraphy scroll. On it, she wrote that the moon is radiant and full during the Mid-Autumn Festival as everyone gathers to celebrate the spirit of togetherness.
From now until 1 October 2023, visitors to the Sunway Velocity Mall’s main atrium will be able to purchase from over 10 different mooncake brands and redeem free gifts in collaboration with the mall’s bank partner Standard Chartered Bank.
The gifts include Mid-Autumn-themed scented candles and a stainless-steel thermal jug when customers spend a certain amount. Visitors who are Standard Chartered cardholders can spend RM100 less than regular visitors to redeem the gifts, according to a statement by the brand.
As Sunway Group's Velocity Mall rewards its customers with a Mid-Autumn campaign, Sunway Group’s wholly-owned unit Sunway City (SunCity) will reportedly be acquiring Iskandar Assets’s (IASB) 40% stake in their joint venture company Sunway Iskandar Development to develop Johor’s Sunway City Iskandar Puteri (SCIP) into Sunway Group’s next flagship township.
SunCity will be buying over IASB’s stake for RM770,450 in the joint venture which was previously established to set up a RM412.673 million mixed development project in Johor known as SCIP, according to The Star.
