StarHub tipped to appoint a panel of agencies for creative mandate

StarHub has appointed a panel of agencies as its creative partners. The agencies are Bread Butter Bacon, Nine:TwentyEight, Seven brands, MARKETING-INTERACTIVE understands.

A spokesperson from StarHub neither confirmed nor denied the appointments. She said, “Due to commercial reasons, we can only share that we are in the process of discussing details with specific agencies.”

This is the first time the telco is working with a panel of agencies, MARKETING-INTERACTIVE understands. The incumbent on the account was The Secret Little Agency (TSLA), and the agency confirmed that it would not be participating in the pitching process.

In July last year, StarHub also appointed Mindshare as its media agency after six years with Carat. Carat first won the account in 2016, after StarHub initially parted ways with Mindshare after working with them since 2009. On the PR side, StarHub is currently working with AKA Asia.

Meanwhile, the telco also recently hired prominent marketer Cheryl Lim as its head of brand and communications at StarHub, consumer business group. To drive key business verticals, Lim will be leading a few functions - brand, marketing communications, digital, performance marketing and in-house creative team. She reports to Johan Buse, chief consumer business group of StarHub.

Before StarHub, Lim worked with the likes of Viu, Manulife Singapore, DBS, AXA and HSBC.
