Standard Chartered Malaysia has unveiled its first integrated caf? banking branch?in the same building as its new Malaysia head office in Equatorial Plaza. Spanning three storeys, the branch seeks to be a "dynamic and multi-faceted" environment and social meeting place for visitors.

According to a press release, the bank aims to engage with its clients, including those from its priority and business banking segments, in a new and refreshed way through the new concept.?The Kuala Lumpur main branch includes a priority banking centre on its first floor and commenced operations on 11 November.

Standard Chartered Malaysia head of retail banking Lai Pei Si said the move breaks away from the traditional mould of branch banking to balance between digital convenience and people-oriented experience. She explained: ?The increasing influence of digital means that convenience is a given rather than a privilege in banking where visits to branches, although no longer necessary, are still a valued experience.?

The cafe is run by?homegrown Malaysian bakery brand Tedboy. Lai said the partnership is a "fitting choice", as it weaves in with the bank's mission to help promising local businesses establish and expand their presence. Additionally, Standard Chartered Malaysia has engaged Malaysian designer Melinda Looi to refresh the uniform for its frontline employees, in line with the company's agenda to support women entrepreneurship.
