StanChart Malaysia names head of commercial banking to chart strategy and growth

Standard Chartered Malaysia has named Manish Gupta head of commercial banking to develop the strategy and drive the growth of its commercial banking business. Gupta will also continue the bank's focus on supporting entrepreneurial businesses in Malaysia and helping companies grow and connect internationally.
He joins from Standard Chartered Indonesia where he was head of commercial banking for the past two years. He has over 20 years of experience in banking and finance, and has held diverse roles across the bank's corporate and commercial businesses in Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam and India.
Abrar A. Anwar, MD and CEO, Standard Chartered Malaysia said Gupta will provide strategic lead to sustain and accelerate its strategy, especially within the commercial banking ecosystem where the bank has witnessed significant growth in the last couple of years through our investment in technology and customer-centric approach.
"With Gupta's diverse background and experience in establishing businesses, driving efficiencies and building scale, we are confident that he will contribute to the growth and success of our commercial banking business in Malaysia," he added.
