Spotify has launched RADAR, a global emerging artist programme with 19 global sister programmes spanning more than 50 markets.
The launch aims to help emerging artists across all stages of their development, and deepen their connection to new and existing audiences around the world. To go with the launch, Spotify also announced a new playlist (RADAR 新勢力) that highlights the must-know tracks and hot new artists across a full spectrum of genres.
The programme includes singers from Asian countries such as Taiwanese-Indonesian singer-songwriter Kelly Cheng; Singaporean pop-rock band NEKO Highway; 15-year-old Thai female vocalist Gail; and Singaporean singer-songwriter Mei Ting.
“The launch of Spotify’s RADAR programme puts a mix of Spotify’s best-in-class editorial and marketing abilities behind some truly exciting up-and-coming global and Asian talent,” said Boon Ken Wong, Asia team lead, music culture and editorial, Spotify.
“The new playlist features some of the most interesting talent currently coming out of Asia – a treasure trove of emerging sounds where home-grown talent is in abundance.”
