Indonesian social metaverse platform Jagat has gained over a million daily active users within the first month of its launch, topping global charts, according to a statement by the company.
Backed by leading investors such as Advance Intelligence Group and Northstar Group, Jagat is a mobile first next-generation social platform launched in Indonesia, bringing authentic real-life inspired interactions in one immersive virtual world. The platform allows users to create their own virtual experiences as well as the format of social interactions ranging from meeting rooms to voice chat rooms to live performances and more.
Commenting on the platform’s initial success, Barry Beagen, CEO of Jagat, said, "We are building a social platform for the next generation. We believe social networking platforms should get users to go out more and explore the world with their friends. We start with location sharing as a foundation because we believe the need for location is universal, and on top of this, we'll be building exciting features that not only will allow the next generation of mobile users to have more fun in this hybrid real and virtual world, but also to power countless businesses and creators worldwide."

Adding on, Patrick Walujo, co-founder and managing partner of Northstar Group, the first institutional investor in Jagat, said, "Jagat's founding team is unique, and comes with backgrounds in tech spanning AI/ML, e-commerce, social media and gaming. With their dynamic and agile go-to-market approach, their insights into this next generation social map app has the potential to transform the way we see location sharing and exploring the world with our mobile phones today. We are excited to be part of this journey and look forward to seeing Jagat redefine the future of social media for the next generation."
Since its launch, Jagat has been receiving significant attention globally, topping charts in Taiwan, Spain and in Eastern Europe.
Jagat's growth has been fueled by user-generated virality, with invitation links shared on social media platforms such as Twitter, TikTok, and Xiaohongshu. With features such as real-time location sharing, status updates, and immersive emoji-based interactions, Jagat allows users to stay connected with their peers in a more authentic and immediate way, attracting Gen Z users mostly.
