eCommerce platform Shopee Malaysia and Malaysian girl group Dolla have taken over traffic in Kuala Lumpur with a new 3D billboard runway fashion show for Shopee's 11.11 Big Sale shopping festival.
The 3D billboard, located in front of KLCC Twin Towers, teased the question, “Siapa Mereka?” (Who are they?), inviting audiences to guess the identities of four doll-like women striking poses, still as statues, inside four gigantic orange boxes in the shapes of the number one.

The reveal was also teased on the brand’ social media page, which featured the silhouettes of the four artists.
Three days later, Dolla leapt out to reveal fashion and beauty items available on Shopee, singing and dancing to a remake of their best-selling hit BAD.
A huge QR code was emblazoned on the side where customers could scan and be taken to Shopee Live on their mobile apps to claim vouchers.
“My team’s brief was to do something deliberately out-of-the-box, that has never been seen before by either Dolla’s fans or Shopee’s audience," said Kenneth Soh, head of marketing at Shopee Malaysia. "The piece of work that was directed by our very own video team is a result of great team effort and the coordination of almost a hundred people pulled across various departments in under two months," he added.
According to Shopee, the girl group was chosen in hopes to drive engagement among younger Malaysians, taping on the group’s talkability and popularity
"This campaign is a testament to the power of seeing Dolla larger-than-life in 3D and to the effectiveness of Shopee Live as a platform for reaching and engaging with younger Malaysians. Thanks to Dolla’s talkability, we’re already seeing a significant increase in traffic to Shopee Live and meaningful, brand building connections across our platform," said Soh.
Shopee is well-known for using notable influencers in its monthly sale campaigns. Across the border, to celebrate 9.9, a shopping day of deals and discounts, Shopee roped in local influencers Xiaxue and Mayiduo to help it promote the day.
In the ad, Xiaxue and Mayiduo don orange jackets and dance along to a catchy tune reminding consumers that they can buy "everything" on Shopee and claim cashback as well as shop for deals and win SG $100k on the platform.
