Shangri-La onboards AXA's Andrea Wong as SVP of group marketing and communications

AXA Hong Kong’s chief marketing and customer officer Andrea Wong (pictured) has left the company to join Shangri-La Group as senior vice president, group marketing and communications.
Reporting to the group's chairman Kuok Hui Kwong, Wong is responsible for the group-wide marketing, communications and branding strategic priorities, as well as providing leadership and strategic directions to the brands, media and social, the group's loyalty programme Shangri-La Circle and corporate communication teams.
In terms of the strategies moving forward, Wong told MARKETING-INTERACTIVE that she will support the group to become the best-loved hospitality group by developing impactful and differentiating branding, marketing and customer strategies to foster business growth and to further strengthen the group's brands.
Prior to Shangri-La Group, Wong was the chief marketing and customer officer at AXA Hong Kong, where she had overall responsibility for driving brand and advertising, digital marketing, corporate communications, customer experience, and ESG activities across life, health and general insurance for Hong Kong and Macau.
With over 20 years of experience in financial services, Wong has held roles in marketing, digital and data, strategy, customer experience and sales management in the banking and insurance industries.
"I have had a very rewarding and fruitful career at AXA where I was given a number of opportunities to deepen and expand on my skillset. I am keen to join the Shangri-La Group to contribute to a different industry and at a global level," Wong said.
She looks forward to working in such an innovative and energetic organisation and to working with colleagues to further strengthen the hotel brands, create impactful marketing campaigns and PR efforts, and further build up the Shangri-La Circle propositions to deliver superior customer experience.
"I’m very excited to join such an iconic and loved hotel group, and to be able to contribute my experience and expertise to help continue to build up the hotel brands, design and implement marketing strategies and initiatives to drive business growth, and further enhance the experience of Shangri-La customers," she added.
