SG Enable calls for a more inclusive society in new music video

Singapore disability services and support organisation SG Enable has partnered with digital agency Tribal Worldwide Singapore to release a music video as it encourages the inclusion for persons with disabilities to commemorate its 10-year anniversary.

Titled ‘Our Story’, the song was composed by local choral composer-conductor Darius Lim and aims to celebrate unity in diversity.

The flash-mob style music video was shot against the backdrop of Marina Bay Sands and features 500 people that include persons with disabilities and their loved ones, SG Enable partners, and members from Voices of Singapore.

“Tribal Worldwide brought our rallying call for an inclusive society to life with this heartfelt and inspiring music video,” said Ku Geok Boon, CEO at SG Enable.

“We look forward to sharing the video and encouraging Singaporeans across our nation to join us in forging a more inclusive Singapore,” she added.

As pedestrians in the area were rallied to be a part of the music video and the crowd among the singers grew, the result emphasised how Singaporeans can come together to support a more inclusive nation.

The music video also pays tribute to SG Enable’s theme, ‘SG Enable is enabling beyond’, and will see a campaign that spans online and social media channels to expand its audience reach.

The collaboration follows the appointment of Tribal Worldwide and Omnicom PR Group to manage SG Enable’s 10th-anniversary campaign this year to showcase SG Enable’s theme vision of ‘Inclusive Society’.

In support of the campaign, a trimmed 60-second version of the song will be airing on Mediacorp's TV and radio channels. The trimmed version will also include a call to action to support persons with disabilities through the Goh Chok Tong Enable Fund (GCTEF).

As part of its push for inclusivity in Singapore, SG Enable has put out “UnAwkward”, an 80-second film aimed at raising awareness of social impediments for the differently abled in Singapore.

The film aims to reduce the stigma surrounding the differently abled and accept everyone as they are, be it neighbours, co-workers or friends and is an extension of SG Enable’s I’mable (read as “I’m able”) public education initiative, which acknowledges and proactively stimulates the recognition of different abilities.
