Samsung's Abhishek Grover steps down as digital marketing group head

Abhishek Grover has stepped down from his role as head of digital marketing group at Samsung Southeast Asia and Oceania. He was promoted to the role last year, more than two years after he joined as regional digital marketing head, mobile business.

According to his LinkedIn post, Grover described his journey at Samsung to be an "immensely fulfilling and rewarding" one. "I remember my overwhelmed self on my first day at the regional HQ office. Moving from an agency to a corporate environment, adjusting to a new culture and getting accustomed to an extremely result-oriented outlook took some work. But people made all the difference. I am grateful to all my colleagues for supporting me in my journey at Samsung," he added.

Grover added that the digital marketing group at SEA and Oceania has come a long way. "It gives me a great sense of pride that we built a strong and highly capable team that is leading Samsung’s global digital transformation agenda. Whether it was setting up a digital shared service operations or building industry first attribution models, it was the innovative and courageous thinking of the team that helped us leap forward," he added.

In his previous role as regional digital marketing head, mobile business, Grover was responsible for data-driven digital marketing strategies and best practices for the region, covering social, CRM, search, eCommerce. Before Samsung, Grover was with GroupM for more than seven years, last helming the role of business director, global client solutions for Wavemaker.

In that role, he was the Asia Pacific account lead for the CPG vertical managing global businesses such as L’Oreal and Kimberly Clark. He also led cross-functional team across media strategy, digital operations, digital content and new business development. He also worked at Maxus before it merged with MEC to form Wavemaker.
