This pet fish just hitched a ride on a Samsonite suitcase for a campaign

Lifestyle bag and luggage brand is giving a pet fish a ride on its suitcase with a new campaign to promote its Aero-Trac Whirl suspension wheel system, designed to minimise rolling vibration and noise effectively.

Available across a selection of its stylish suitcases, these quiet and maneuverable wheels ensure smoother journey, it said in a statement. 

The spot, created by independent agency, Blak Labs, features a pet fish hitching a ride atop a Samsonite suitcase as it traverses across undulating terrain.

In the video, the traveler takes his pet fish on a ride on his suitcase as they travel across bumpy roads that even cause a cyclist to spill his groceries, all while the tank remains steady thanks to the bag.

The traveler eventually swings the bag forward and towards a larger tank where a second goldfish jumps into the fishbowl. 

"This advanced technology significantly enhances maneuverability, shock absorption and noise reduction, ensuring an unparalleled travel experience for our customers," said Hazlina Dayangku, assistant director, marketing and brand strategy (SEA), Samsonite Singapore. "Collaborating with Blak Labs, we crafted a narrative that celebrates these remarkable features but also adds a touch of wit and intelligence, showcasing our commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction."

“A fish bowl is a clever way to demonstrate the smooth, stable and silent nature of our suspension wheels,” said Douglas Goh, head of creative Asia (Digital), Samsonite Asia. “Not only did our goldfish arrive safely at its destination, other fishes also jumped in for the ride.”

“People have the attention span of a goldfish. Our spot delivers the message in a charming and captivating manner,” added Koh Hwee Peng, creative partner of Blak Labs.

Animals make great additions to campaigns. Recently, Income Insurance created a proposition around flexibility for its investment suite of products, brought alive through a unique metaphorical campaign around a cat’s flexibility.

In contrast to product-led spots, the campaign film drew parallels on the flexibility of Income Insurance’s investment-linked products with the agility of cats.

The campaign, produced by BBH Singapore, follows a fluffy feline as it navigates the intricate pathways of interconnected pipes with confidence, just as Invest Flex and AstraLink allows consumers to maximise their investment potential with flexibility.
