Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse eyes expansion in the Philippines

US restaurant chain Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse has its eyes on the Philippines after announcing that it is planning to put up one or two more branches in the country as part of its aggressive expansion in Asia. The news was revealed by Kieran Galway, the regional director of Ruth’s Chris Steak House in Asia Pacific, at a recent media roundtable as reported by the Philippines Inquirer, a news site in the Philippines.

“Judging by the success of this branch (in Ore Central Tower in Bonifacio Global City), I think there is an opportunity and we do have the demand for it,” he said. Galway also said that the company also saw a big fanbase of Filipinos in other countries, prompting them to open a Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse in the Philippines back in 2021.
“Judging by our guests in Singapore and Hong Kong, we got a lot of Filipino guests. So, there is a big fanbase. It’s by popular demand and we have a very good local partner,” said Galway who also oversees operations of its branches in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, China, Singapore, and Indonesia.
Galway added that they are also partnered With Am-Phil group which manages local American casual dining restaurant chain Chili’s Grill and Bar, Chinese restaurant chain Super Bowl of China, and Japanese restaurant brand Nanbantei Yakitori Bar.
According to Galway, Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse is scoping out prospects outside the capital region in The Philippines for suitable locations for their new stores. MARKETING-INTERACTIVE has reached out for a comment.
