Global communications agency Redhill has appointed Manisha Seewal (pictured) as its new president to oversee and enhance the agency's business and operational functions, as the company seeks to accelerate its growth sustainably to become a holistic and integrated communications agency.

Seewal will be based in Singapore but will focus her efforts throughout the Southeast Asia market, she said to MARKETING-INTERACTIVE. She will also support the ongoing global expansion efforts in markets such as the USA, UK, Australia and the Middle East. She will be reporting to Redhill's Founder and CEO, Jacob Puthenparambil with the appointment coming into effect immediately.

"I am excited to bring my APAC experience in business transformation and expansion to Redhill and strengthen our foothold in the region's diverse markets. Each market requires an individually tailored, nuanced approach, which is a challenge that is difficult to resist," said Seewal.

Seewal first joined Redhill as a senior advisor in November 2022, bringing with her over two decades of senior leadership expertise. Throughout her career, she worked heavily in marketing, digital transformation and market expansion. This includes leading various 'Singapore's first' digital transformation projects, such as the country's first "Netflix for Cars" subscription-based programme and first life insurance chatbot.

Before joining Redhill, Seewal was the chief marketing officer of Gumtree, Carsguide, and Autotrader, where she spearheaded the three brands’ digital transformation of their marketing and editorial functions in Australia.

Prior to that, she was the first group chief marketing officer of Southeast Asian car marketplace Carro – where she scaled the company’s marketing team from just three people to over 70-strong across Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia. While at Carro, Manisha concurrently served as the chief executive officer of Jualo.com, Indonesia’s third largest e-classified marketplace that was acquired by Carro.

Before joining the startup world, Manisha heading marketing teams for several financial institutions such as Tokio Marine, HSBC and AVIVA.

"Having worked with Seewal for the past months, I’m happy to welcome her into her new role as president. Especially during our critical growth juncture, I’m confident that she will further strengthen Redhill’s capabilities in the long term,” said Jacob Puthenparambil, the founder and CEO of Redhill.

The news comes shortly after Pranav Rastogi, the managing director at PR and communications agency Redhill exited his role, as confirmed by Rastogi to MARKETING-INTERACTIVE.

Rastogi joined the Singapore-headquartered agency six years ago in 2017 as its communications strategy manager. By the end of the year, he was promoted to general manager of Southeast Asia and then deputy managing director in 2018.

Quickly showing his skill, Rastogi was promoted to interim managing director in 2020 before taking on the full role of managing director in November 2020, a role he held till he left the company.
