RAPP has hired Lee Poh Li (pictured) as its new managing director. Lee will be heading the Malaysian office of the agency. Prior to RAPP, Lee served as the general manager of M&C Saatchi Malaysia for a decade, from 2012 to 2022, where she grew the agency’s digital and social business as well as played an integral role in leading the brand relationship for their largest client, Celcom.
She then moved on to Leo Burnett, where she stayed for about a year as client partner for the Maxis account and steered the team towards further strengthening the agency-client relationship. According to her LinkedIn she mentions her role in building the company’s digital portfolio from a single client to servicing over 70% of the company’s existing portfolio of clients. Lee also wrked at Dentsu Malaysia as digital head from 2010 to 2011, before which she was interactive group head at Draftfcb interactive from 2006 to 2010.
As part of her new role at RAPP, Lee will be contributing creative insights and establishing a strong foundation for the organisation via overall agency management. Lee said that she believes in having a partnership mindset more than anything else, be it with a client, colleague or boss. “At RAPP, we strive to provide the best customer experience in the market by delivering not only exceptional products and services, but also the best agency-client partnership experience across our portfolio,” she added.
In a conversation with A+M, Lee said that the role was an attractive one to her having managed telco businesses quite extensively in the past. “Working with a luxury car partner such as Mercedes, allows me growth in areas which I may not be exposed to. This role is an overview role and not just on managing a client but an overall agency,” she said. For the next 100days, Lee will focus on areas that can be strengthened internally and also for the client. “I will be giving full support to the existing team, and the well-being of the people in the agency is top priority,” she added.
In December last year, Rapp hired its new integrated campaign lead, Vanita Menon Kris who was the former head of marketing of new verticals at foodpanda Malaysia. Kris is responsible for driving and managing the activation and delivery of integrated campaigns for Mercedes-Benz across multiple channels and multiple overseas markets. She will also work hand in hand with 16 local markets to ensure adoption and enable integrated project steering across all phases of campaigns, and understand the operations to pave way for successful campaigns. She reports to Rapp's chief business officer.
