Prudential Hong Kong has appointed Candy Au Yeung (pictured right) as chief customer operation officer, effective from 1 June. Meanwhile, Felix Fung (pictured left) rejoined the firm as chief product officer, effective from 1 July.

Both are members of the Prudential Hong Kong executive committee, reporting to Prudential Hong Kong chief executive officer Lawrence Lam. The new appointments aim to spotlight transition and integration to enhance customer experience and continue pipeline of innovative products.

Within her new role, Au Yeung will oversee the re-alignment of the integrated customer operation division in a drive to deliver an enhanced customer experience covering the full range of operational functions including underwriting, customer services, health assessment, claims and policy administration.

Au Yeung re-joined Prudential from Manulife Hong Kong where she was chief operating officer. Prior to that, she spent eight years working for Prudential in senior customer servicing, policy administration and claims servicing roles. She also has gained sector experience with AIA HK, Bupa HK, MetLife HK and Zurich Insurance.

Meanwhile, Fung brings to his new role 20 years of industry experience specialising in product management and innovation, as well as actuarial and finance. With a strong focus on driving customer excellence, he will leverage every opportunity available to sharpen Prudential Hong Kong’s product development and innovation expertise.

A seasoned insurance professional, Fung had worked in Prudential’s actuarial and finance function between 2013 and 2015. Prior to Prudential, he was the head of product at AIA Hong Kong where he led product innovation, development and strategy since 2015. Earlier in his career, he worked with HSBC Life, AXA and Commonwealth Bank of Australia.

Commenting on the appointments, Lam said: “Both Au Yeung and Fung bring with them proven track record of successful leadership in their respective fields, and I am very pleased to welcome them back to Prudential. They will play vital roles as we strive for service excellence and drive Prudential’s product innovation, as well as bracing for the future with an evolving, innovation-led business strategy.”

Meanwhile, Au Yeung said Prudential has a long and admired heritage in Hong Kong with its mission to help people get the most out of life. “I’m looking forward to working with my colleagues to deliver on a clear and ambitious strategy that will benefit customers and business alike,” she said.

“Prudential has a well-deserved reputation for always listening to its customers and delivering comprehensive health and wealth solutions to meet their evolving needs,” Fung said. “I’m very excited to be working with the team to continue this customer-centric approach to innovation, and to grow the Prudential footprint in Hong Kong.”
