PropertyGuru Group appoints director of marketing operations

PropertyGuru Group has appointed Adrian Tan (pictured) as director of marketing operations, reporting to CMO and MD, fintech, Bjorn Sprengers. In his new role, Tan is responsible for establishing digital marketing strategies and driving operations that address unique opportunities across four of PropertyGuru’s five markets, namely, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia.

Tan will also focus on the Group's leadership in engaging market share and bolstering value creation by acquiring quality audiences and generating quality leads to support customers. With its three business units, marketplaces, fintech, and data and software solutions, the Group is working on its aspiration to become the property "trust platform" for Southeast Asia and further enable confident decisions in the property industry.

Tan was previously head of digital marketing at iProperty.com.my which was under REA Group. Last May, PropertyGuru Group acquired the shares of REA Group’s operating entities in Malaysia and Thailand: iProperty.com.my, Brickz.my, thinkofliving.com and Prakard.com. Tan spent three years at iProperty.com.my before it was acquired.

Before that, he was with Meta as client solutions manager for two years driving a diverse client portfolio that includes brands from the travel, telco, FMCG, automotive, property, and QSR categories in Malaysia, his LinkedIn said. He was also responsible for forecasting, monitoring, and fulfilling quarterly revenue and growth goals. Tan also has experience in the agency scene having worked at MediaCom (now known as EssenceMediacom, GroupM, and OMD.

PropertyGuru officially listed on the New York Stock Exchange in March this year. CEO and MD, Hari V. Krishnan said the successful listing on the NYSE will allow the company to open more doors for the millions of residents across Southeast Asia seeking the perfect home or property investment.

A month later, it announced a 22.7% increase in revenue to SG$100.7 million for 2021 compared to the previous year. Krishan described 2021 to be "a transformational year" for the company, having acquired iProperty Malaysia and thinkofliving and listed on NYSE.

Its Singapore marketplace revenue increased 19.9% to SG$56.0 million while Malaysia increased by 86.0% to SG$14.7 million. PropertyGuru said previously that it is on track to achieve its 2022 guidance of 44.0% year-on-year revenue growth.
