PRecious Communications' director of strategic advisory, Jose Raymond, has stepped down from the role. He will be moving into the position of managing director at SW Strategies, a company he started in 2016, according to Raymond when MARKETING-INTERACTIVE reached out. He will also take on the role of managing director and publisher of TMSG, an online sports and lifestyle media publication he started in 2017.

SW Strategies looks after the needs of a very niche set of clients and that has always been its selling point, said Raymond. As such, he will now be putting in more resources to grow the agency as well as TMSG which itself has a unique proposition for followers of local sports.

Raymond leaves PRecious Communications after just under two years in the role from 2022 to 2023.

"When I decided to take on the role at PRecious, I gave myself two years to learn as much as possible. It’s been 20 months, and the time was ripe for me to move on and move back," said Raymond when asked why he was leaving PRecious Communications.

"My hats off to the amazing team who walked the journey with me over the last 20 months. We scaled many new heights together, while ensuring that we were around to support each other when at our lowest. They are my rock stars," he added.

Prior to his stint at PRecious Communications, Raymond was founder and chief strategy officer at SW Strategies for five and a half years. He founded SW Strategies after close to eight years of experience in the communications space, helming senior roles at Sport Singapore, Singapore Sports Hub and Asia Pulp and Paper. He was also the press secretary to the Minister for the Environment and Water Resources (now known as Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment) in 2011 and CEO of the Singapore Environment Council. He also spent a decade in journalism at Mediacorp and Singapore Press Holdings.

He was the founding vice chairman of the Chiam See TongSports Fund which aimed to help under-served athletes, and supported the non-profit from its launch in March 2017 to December 2020. He continues to be active in the sports community, currently serving as the VP (partnerships) of FLASH Athletics Club. Raymond also campaigned during the 2020 General Election by running for the Potong Pasir Single Member Constituency under Singapore People's Party.
