Pizza Hut Malaysia introduces 'The Singing Pizza' combining food and song

Pizza Hut Malaysia has collaborated with Universal Music Malaysia to introduce “The Singing Pizza”, which is available from now until the end of December 2019. The Singing Pizza turns a regular pizza box into a music box that plays music from an exclusive playlist and comes with vibrant collectible designs. A special QR code will be provided when consumers order their pizza either on the pizza box (for take-away or delivery) or on the menu (for dining in), allowing them to scan and listen to the exclusive playlist while enjoying their pizzas. The Singing Pizza’s playlist comprises 200 songs which will be updated every two weeks, including top trending and exclusive unreleased tracks by top local artistes such as Fattah Amin (pictured top right left), Fazura (pictured top second from left), Alvin Chong (pictured bottom second from right), Zaim (pictured bottom right), and Shalma (pictured top right). To add on to the hype, with a frequent purchase of any pizzas from selected outlets, Pizza Hut customers will stand a chance to meet Shawn Mendes live as well as unlock pizza vouchers. Pizza Hut also ran a social media contest in conjunction with its campaign last month, where it inserted pizza puns into well-known song titles. Participants were to guess the name of the original song and complete the lines in the most creative way in the comment section on each Facebook post.   Through this new experience, Pizza Hut wants to elevate Malaysians’ overall experience by injecting entertainment with each bite of pizza they take. According to Jean Ler, chief marketing officer of Pizza Hut Malaysia, music is “a big part of Malaysian culture”, and so with this campaign, two of Malaysian’s “favourite passions” - food and music – are combined into one. “Our strategy in Malaysia has always been to make it easier to get a better pizza for all Malaysians, and innovation through digitalisation is our key enabler in achieving this. Today, we’re blazing the trail of innovation with digital technology once again to deliver a very human experience through this innovative campaign,” Merrill Pereyra, executive director, CEO restaurants, QSR Brands said. “Through this partnership, both Pizza Hut and Universal Music Malaysia enable Malaysians to get the best of both worlds and more out of life through a unique combination. It’s a win-win for both brands as the collaboration enables us to access each other’s customer base and serve up something special,” he added. Kenny Wong, managing director of Universal Music Malaysia/Singapore/Indo-China said: “We are really proud to be partnered with an edgy brand such as Pizza Hut which has been continuously pushing all the right boundaries and The Singing Pizza initiative is a great example of that.” Local artiste Nur Fazura Sharifuddin said: “Fattah and I are extremely excited and honoured to be the first artistes in Malaysia to launch our latest track ‘Paling Sempurna’ through this unique platform.”
