Ping An Health has appointed Li Dou (pictured) as its new CEO, executive director and chairman of the Board, succeeding Fang Weihao. The appointment is effective from 18 October.

This comes as Ping An Group continues to deepen the strategic development of "integrated finance + healthcare and elderly care".

As an integral part of Ping An’s managed care services system the flagship platform of the Group’s healthcare ecosystem, this role will help Ping An Health adhere to the value proposition of “worry-free, time-saving, and money-saving” and will deeply cultivate the healthcare industry, providing professional products and services to consumers.

Li had held senior management positions in various fields such as medicine, fast-moving consumer goods, insurance, and elderly care. That provides him with profound insights and extensive experience in understanding consumer needs, the development of supply channels, and digital operations.

Li has served as a special assistant to the chairman and general manager of the Healthcare Division of Ping An Life Insurance Company of China. He joined Ping An Health in August 2023 and has served as a non-executive director of the company.

During his tenure at Ping An Life Insurance, Li played a pivotal role in developing Ping An Life Insurance's "Health+" business model. He led the establishment of the home-based elderly care team, creating a new product line and service system, and integrating insurance to form a new sales system, according to the release.

Over the past year, he has helped strengthen the company’s service foundations and pursue long-term operations. This includes the creation of a comprehensive three-in-one professional companion service, a one-stop solution for 10 major service scenarios, and an intelligent supervision system.

Prior to that, Li was the vice president of sales and the demand general manager of China of Mars Wrigley Confectionery (China).

Meanwhile, Fang Weihao, who has stepped down from the role due to personal work arrangements, will take up another important position within Ping An Group.

Fang Weihao joined Ping An Health in 2020 as chairman of the Board, executive director and CEO. The Board of Directors of Ping An Health expressed its sincere gratitude to Fang for his contributions to the company's strategic transformation and steady development over the past three years, which laid a solid foundation for the construction and deepening implementation of the company's managed care model 2.0.
