PARKnSHOP ties the knot exclusively with Deliveroo HK

Deliveroo has inked an exclusive partnership with popular supermarket chain PARKnSHOP, with Deliveroo bringing 50 of the grocery chain’s shops across Hong Kong onto its platform during the first phase of the partnership launch. The partnership will also enable promotions of 1,000 items from the chain’s banners including PARKnSHOP, FUSION, INTERNATIONAL and TASTE, with a focus on fresh grocery items.
Norman Yum, managing director of PARKnSHOP Hong Kong, said the partnership enables the brand to not only expand its customer base, but also to reach customers in locations where it wouldn’t normally have easy access to.
Yum added, “It allows us to stay on top of eCommerce and benefit from Deliveroo’s expertise on this front with ASAP delivery. We’re confident that our customers will be thrilled with this new on-demand grocery service, allowing them to order from us at all times of the day from the comfort of their own homes and receive them as quickly as 30 mins.”
According to Deliveroo grocery will remain a focus for its offerings given it has delivered a year-on-year GTV growth of more than 700% in the first quarter. Customer feedback has also been very positive, with many Deliveroo users applauding the service as the most convenient way to shop for groceries and household items, said the brand. As such, with Hong Kong rapidly adopting eCommerce and emerging new technologies, on-demand grocery delivery and editions sites will continue to be key focus area for Deliveroo. Grocery shoppers who prefer to go digital can access a wide selection of PARKnSHOP products via Deliveroo all across the city, from Hong Kong Island to the New Territories.
Brian Lo, general manager of Deliveroo Hong Kong, said, “Our exclusive partnership with PARKnSHOP reiterates Deliveroo’s commitment to investing in on-demand convenience from grocery stores and supermarkets. It’s exciting to go above and beyond with our offerings from our new partner PARKnSHOP, as well as our existing partners.”
He added that eCommerce grocery services have become one of the leading preferences for shoppers in Hong Kong, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic. “With these great partners in place, we are ready to go big and as we will continue to invest in the grocery area and bring more iconic local brands directly to our customers,” he added.
With the partnership, Lo explained that Deliveroo expects grocery investment and offering to drive massive growth in existing customers' purchasing patterns on our platform, as well as acquire more new customers into the on-demand service space.
In celebration of the launch, from now until 11 July, new Deliveroo customers will receive two HK$25 vouchers. Meanwhile, all customers can enjoy 15% off their orders with a minimum purchase of HK$150 (limited to HK$30).
Recently ParknShop made headlines for removing bottles of Watsons water carrying motivational slogans on packaging. The packaging contains four different images showing Hong Kong’s landscape with messages such as "There is an attitude called persistence," "No matter we are together or apart, our roots are here," “Chasing dreams across mountains and valleys,” and "Lift your head and you can see a sunny day.”
