Henry Christian, former GM as well as SVP, head of loyalty and marketing at NTUC Link, has joined GoTo Group as head of brand and engagement marketing. Christian (pictured) said in a LinkedIn post that since he started at the Group, he has had the experience of seeing the company go public on the Indonesia Stock Exchange and he is "psyched to be working with intelligent and passionate folks every day". "As an Indonesian born individual, I am excited to contribute to GoTo's success story as we combine our strengths in eCommerce, on demand and payment services to better serve our customers," he said.

Christian spent three years at NTUC Link and last helmed the role of GM. According to his LinkedIn, he helped improve his company's bottom line by 47% year-on-year and the net promoter score also rose by 64 points. Meanwhile, as SVP, head of loyalty marketing with NTUC Link, he oversaw the commercial and innovation aspects of the company's loyalty business and all functions of marketing, such as branding, partnerships, performance, and digital marketing.

He joined NTCU Link from Mitra Adiperkasa where he was GM and head of loyalty programme. According to Christian, he was recruited to design, run and operate the MAPCLUB programme, Indonesia's largest retail coalition loyalty programme featuring more than 150 brands across thousands of stores. He also worked at Wing Tai Retail, OCBC Bank, Robinson Group, and American Express. MARKETING-INTERACTIVE has reached out to GoTo Group and Christian for comment.

Separately, GoTo's Board of Commissioners recently appointed Gojek co-founder and former CEO, Kevin Aluwi, to join the board. In his new role, Aluwi will support GoTo's senior leaders in delivering the brand's vision and mission and work to empower progress for everyone in the GoTo ecosystem and the communities where it operates.

Additionally, he will continue to represent Gojek in the electric vehicle space in support of its commitment to zero emissions by 2030. As part of this, he will become a commissioner at Electrum, a joint venture between Gojek and TBS Energi Utama that aims to build an integrated and holistic two-wheel EV ecosystem in Indonesia. The Group expanded its "Three Zeros" commitments - Zero Emissions, Zero Waste, and Zero Barries - across its ecosystem last week, forming a consolidated approach and strategy for the company.

Aluwi will take Caesar Sengupta's seat on the GoTo Board of Commissioners, as Sengupta steps down to focus on his growing company, Arbo Works, and continue in his role as a commissioner at GoTo Financial. According to the brand, Caesar is a veteran of 15 years at Google and has left his last position as general manager and vice president for payments next billion users to start Arbo Works in April 2021. Currently, Sengupta is currently co-founder and CEO of Arbo Works, a venture-funded fintech company based in Singapore and the US.

As for Aluwi's previous roles and responsibilities, GoTo Group CEO, Andre Soelistyo, is set to assume these duties, working closely with Gojek's leadership team to execute GoTo's on-demand strategy. According to the brand, this arrangement is still pending shareholder approval.
