Ninja Van launches B2B and cold-chain delivery services

Courier and logistic provider Ninja Van has launched B2B and cold-chain delivery services. The services, Ninja B2B and Ninja Cold, are part of the company's expansion plans beyond eCommerce. It is also in celebration of Ninja Van's 10th anniversary.

For businesses, Ninja B2B will aid in the B2B restock space by providing real-time parcel tracking and flexibility where Ninja B2B's brand partners can restock their stores more often than once a week.

“Take parcel tracking functionality for example. That’s a crucial technology in e-commerce express logistics, given the multiple stakeholders involved in a single trip from the first mile to the last mile,” said Ray Chou, country head of Ninja Van Singapore in a statement.

“However, this tracking capability is now absent in the B2B restock space. As a result, recipients not only lack awareness of the shipment's arrival time but are often unaware of its arrival altogether.”

In addition, Ninja Van will consolidate shipments and pass on the savings to all brand partners. The digitalisation of manual workflows also enhances communication among supply chain components, empowering businesses to identify issues sooner and make faster decisions. With Ninja B2B, the company aims to bring a sense of service guarantee to brand partners.

Tapping onto Ninja Van's network, Ninja B2B aims to transform the way B2B deliveries are done for retail outlets. The newfound flexibility also empowers brands and retailers, freeing them from rigid transporter schedules and enabling full optimisation of display space for their products, said Ninja Van.

Ninja B2B will launch in all six of Ninja Van's markets, said Ninja Van when MARKETING-INTERACTIVE reached out. This includes Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam and Thailand.

Ninja Cold, on the other hand, will include the transportation of items that require refrigeration. This includes items such as fresh fruits and frozen seafood, as well as medicines. This is in addition to the parcels and online order deliveries.

Ninja Van will use cooler boxes for small deliveries and full-sized refrigeration trucks for large deliveries. The items can be transported from the warehouses to customers directly, ensuring that businesses can meet their logistical needs efficiently and effectively.

“The implementation of a cold chain logistics system grants us access to the food and pharmaceutical industries, which were previously out of reach as we couldn’t transport temperature-controlled goods,” said Chou.

“Our ability to now support these bedrock industries in Singapore presents a significant growth opportunity not only for Ninja Cold, but also allows us to explore potential synergies with other facets of our services.”

Ninja Cold will first launch in Singapore and Malaysia. Indonesia, the Philippines and Vietnam will follow after the service has taken off in the first two markets, said Ninja Van when MARKETING-INTERACTIVE reached out.

In other markets, Ninja Van rolled out a new supply chain management solution for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

Named Logistics+, the service was launched in Philippines last year and is aimed at easing the manpower load of MSME. It also aimed to help MSME save time by navigating the complex and ever-changing network of suppliers, manufacturing partners, transportation providers, and financial service providers for them.

This comes after Ninja Van found that MSMEs make up a key segment in the company’s business portfolio and that they would benefit from its value-added services.
