Gucci taps NewJeans’ Hanni for striking new global campaign

Luxury brand Gucci has picked K-pop star, Hanni from Korean girl group NewJeans, to lead their new global campaign for the Horsebit 1955.

NewJeans took to their official Instagram page to announce the new campaign alongside a campaign photo of Hanni striking an elegant pose with the Horsebit 1955.

“Stay tuned for a big reveal. A sneak peek of something special,” it said in the Instagram post.

The campaign marks an expansion of her role as a global brand ambassador for Gucci, a position she has held since October 2022.

The K-pop star also recently expanded her brand ambassador duties to include Gucci Beauty. Hanni was featured applying one of Gucci Beauty's products - the Rouge à Lèvres Mat lipstick 509 ‘Rosso Ancora’.

As a member of the global sensation NewJeans, Hanni has garnered attention for her electrifying stage presence and distinctive sense of style. Her magnetic charisma, self-confidence, and genuine authenticity perfectly embody Gucci Beauty’s core values, it said in a statement at the time.

In recent years, Hanni has also engaged in international projects, attending fashion shows, and starring in campaigns for the House.

NewJeans have done multiple collaborative initiatives for various brands since they rose to fame in 2022. Earlier in the year, the group collaborated with sports brand Nike on a limited-edition Nike By You x NewJeans collection which was made available exclusively at Nike Orchard Road.

Nike announced via their app that the group was set to perform at the Nike Orchard Road store in Singapore as part of the launch.

The group have also collaborated with multiple luxury brands with their growing influence and popularity. Some of these brands include Chanel, YSL and Burberry to name a few.
