Millennium Hotels and Resorts' Saurabh Prakash helms newly created role with expanded duties

Millennium Hotels and Resorts has promoted Saurabh Prakash (pictured) to group SVP, commercial (global). He previously held the role of group VP, global digital marketing, revenue strategy, loyalty and distribution.

A spokesperson from Millennium Group told MARKETING-INTERACTIVE that this was a new role created to achieve greater synergy across all revenue-generating functions with the goal of maximising revenue growth and customer acquisition. This will also be an expansion of Prakash's current portfolio, hence there will be no replacement for his former role. 

In his new role, Prakash is responsible for revenue management, sales and marketing, brands, distribution, digital marketing and platforms, and loyalty and partnerships, the spokesperson added. He is also now a member of the senior leadership team and will report to Kwek Eik Sheng, executive director of Millennium & Copthorne Hotels. 

This is in addition to Prakash's duties from his former role, such as leading digital marketing strategies and transformation globally, and driving distribution channels strategy to grow revenues across the portfolio; according to his LinkedIn.

According to Millennium Group's spokesperson, under Prakash's guidance, his team will drive topline performance for the Group as well as key projects under the Group's commercial strategic road map. "Some examples are new-age revenue management system strategy through machine learning platforms, sales efficiency and automation for the new normal, digital and platform revamp of customer journey and online conversions, loyalty programme revamp, and increasing distribution capability of the Group through strategic partnerships," the spokesperson added.

Prior to joining Millennium, Prakash was VP, commercial, APAC at Radisson Hotel Group, where he was leader of commercial pillars including sales, marketing, revenue management, distribution, analytics, digital and loyalty; according to his LinkedIn. He had also worked in TSA Solutions and was with Marriot International for over 15 years.

Separately, Millennium Hotels and Resorts launched a “Yacht-cation Escape” package in October last year, which allowed hotel guests to go on a luxury yacht ride during their stay. Collaborating with various yacht owners, Millennium's “Yacht-cation Escape” package provided guests with "an indulgent break" that had guests pampered at their Millennium hotel of choice, followed by a sailing adventure to explore the Southern Islands of Singapore.
