MCMC appoints interim chairman

The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has appointed Muhammad Azmi Mohd Zain as interim chairman of MCMC. He takes on the role from Mohamad Salim Fateh Din who held the position since June 2022.

Azmi has over 26 years of experience in the public sector across ministries and departments in the government. He is currently the Director-General of the Department of the Director General of Federal Lands and Mines, Ministry of Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change (NRECC).

Earlier last week the MCMC also clarified that it hadn’t sent any emails or message to members of the public, asking them to cash prizes under a bonus scheme offered by a telco. It then reminded the public to remain vigilant of scams.
