Malaysian life insurer MCIS Insurance has unveiled a new logo and brand promise as part of a rebranding exercise. Starting 1 October 2019, it will also adopt the name, MCIS Life.
The new logo features purple as its dominant colour and carries an endorsement line of its parent company, Sanlam Group, operating in 43 countries across Africa, Europe and Southeast Asia. Meanwhile, in line with its new brand promise of "People Helping People", it also pledged to support and nurture some 500,000 seedlings consisting of the six endemic species of rainforest trees over a period of five years. The rebranding heralds a "new era of mutual assistance and protection", said a press release.
MCIS Life CEO and MD Prasheem Seebran said: “Our brand-new identity is all about empowering people to be a part of something bigger than themselves and what better way than contributing towards a better environment for everyone."
According to him, the social cause was chosen after much thought about the company's role. "People look upon life insurers as guardians of their loved ones and we felt strongly about giving back to the society, a world that the future generation can live in, without compromising their health,” he explained.
The corporate social responsibility will start with an initial planting of 1,200 trees (of six identified species) in two locations in Selangor. The new seedlings produced by the trees over a period of five years will continue to be planted in specified locations through collaborations with local councils.
In conjunction with the launch of MCIS Life, the company is also giving out complimentary plant kits, consisting of an eco-pot, seeds and premium organic peat moss, at selected locations nationwide from 4 October to 2 November. The move aims to encourage and empower individuals to take the first step in helping Mother Earth. Those interested in owning a seedling pack to start their own little garden can follow MCIS Life on its social media pages or visit its website for details.
Last month, MCIS Life appointed Re:Think to handle creative and digital duties, as well as AS.iF Asia to manage PR, CSR initiatives and content development. Both agencies are tasked support the insurer in growing its brand profile with new ideas and innovations to serve Malaysians. They aim to help MCIS Insurance push creative boundaries in creating new customer experiences.
