McDonald’s Singapore is partnering with Migrant & Me this Deepavali for the second time to host a heartwarming community celebration.
The event welcomed 18 migrant workers recovering from work-related injuries at the SG Accident Help Centre by The Salvation Army Sojourn, for an evening of food and festivities, continuing the tradition of inclusivity and togetherness.

Guests enjoyed a McDonald’s meal and participated in a hands-on rangoli painting session, a craft symbolising joy and celebration during Deepavali.
The event fostered a sense of community as migrant workers bonded over the activity; those familiar with rangoli shared their knowledge with others, creating an inclusive environment.
This modern twist on the traditional art form not only highlighted the cultural significance of Deepavali but also promoted learning and togetherness among the participants.
“We are proud to continue our partnership with Migrant & Me,” said Benjamin Boh, managing director of McDonald’s Singapore. “Deepavali is a celebration of community and inclusivity, and are values that resonate with us. This is a wonderful opportunity to recognise the contributions of our migrant heroes, and to foster a deeper sense of cultural appreciation in our community.”
“Collaborating with McDonald’s once again for this meaningful event highlights the power of kindness and community,” added Isabel Phua, executive director of Migrant & Me. “This partnership allows us to create a welcoming space where migrant workers feel valued and included. By engaging them in these celebrations, we’re fostering connections that transcend backgrounds.”
In addition to the event, McDonald’s will gift 1,500 meals through food vouchers, allowing recipients to enjoy a McChicken Extra Value Meal at any McDonald’s restaurant.
McDonald’s has always been big on giving back to the community and recently released limited-edition Ronald and Grimace mismatched socks to put the fun in fundraising for McHappy Day 2024.
The socks feature beloved McDonaldland characters Grimace and Ronald McDonald and will be available for purchase island-wide in-store, for takeaway or via Drive-Thrus for SG$10. Proceeds from the sale of socks will go towards Ronald McDonald house charities (RMHC) Singapore, supporting families with seriously ill children.
This support includes the upkeep of the Ronald McDonald House at the National University Hospital (NUH) and the Ronald McDonald family rooms at NUH and the Institute of Mental Health Singapore (IMH). These rooms are places of respite for families as they care for their children in the pediatric intensive care unit or high dependency wards at NUH and the outpatient clinic at IMH.
