The McDo Philippines mobile app has just surpassed one million downloads, barely two months after its launch last 12 September.Available for both Android and iOS, it was designed and developed by specialist mobile agency Mobext to make ordering and delivery faster with just a few taps on the screen. The app also features a store locator, latest news from McDonald's and a clip board for digital coupons. The app also topped several app store categories for both platforms, such as Food and Drink, Lifestyle, Top Free apps and the overall Top Charts.“Reaching one million downloads is not just a feat for McDonald’s. It also speaks of the local market’s hunger for convenient mobile services, especially for food delivery,” says Arthur Policarpio, Head of Mobext Asia-Pacific.“For McDonald’s, what we’ve achieved is tantamount to putting a McDonald’s store inside 1 million pockets. This is just the start, as the country’s smartphone population will only grow bigger next year.” he adds.Since 2013, McDonald’s has been a early adopter of mobile marketing in the country, with initiatives such as Ang Pao Mobile Coupons and the McDelivery Mobile site both recognized by numerous awarding bodies across the Asia-Pacific region.“At McDonald's, customer convenience has always been our priority. Our mobile app delivers on the promise of speed and convenience, being present on the device that Filipinos use 24/7," said Margot Torres, Senior Vice President - Marketing of McDonald’s Philippines.
