Mandarin Oriental Group names new VP of global CRM and customer strategy

Mandarin Oriental Group has promoted Andrew Cleary (pictured) to be vice president of global CRM and customer strategy. He is based in Hong Kong with experiences in aviation, hospitality, financial markets and media.
Cleary has developed in senior roles with global airlines, hospitality leaders and luxury retailers in Hong Kong, London and Sydney including strategic and crisis communications, digital product innovation, loyalty programme design and commercial partnership management. According to his LinkedIn, Cleary joined Mandarin Oriental Group in February 2022 as the lead for customer and loyalty. He was responsible for developing the long-term customer experience, loyalty proposition and partnerships ecosystem globally for the hotel.
Prior to Mandarin Oriental, Cleary was general manager for customer and digital experience at Hongkong Land, where he was responsible for forming and leading a newly-established team bringing together customer experience design, digital product transformation, data analytics and loyalty operations for Landmark and Greater China luxury retail.

Furthermore, Cleary had worked for Qantas Airways for over seven years. He started as head of investor relations in June 2013. After that, he became head of partnerships and alliances, in which he acted as leader responsible for Qantas’ global portfolio of airline joint ventures, codeshares, and acting as a director at the world's premier airline alliance. He was then promoted to executive manager for customer experience for Qantas Loyalty. He led the loyalty programme design, customer experience, digital product innovation and operations of the Qantas Frequent Flyer programme with more than 13.5 million members.

Recently, Mandarin Oriental Group has appointed Christian Dolenc as general manager of Mandarin Oriental Shenzhen. He brings a wide range of experiences to his new role in South China, having joined Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong in 2010.
