LG Electronics ID signs MoU with govt for 'LG Loves Children' initiative

Home appliance manufacturer, LG Electronics Indonesia has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the education, culture, research and technology ministry to continue to improve the literacy rates among children with its LG Loves Children initiative, as reported by The Jakarta Post.
As part of the MoU, LG will distribute children's reading book packages to 330 of its children’s education programmes (PAUD) across Indonesia with the number 33 corresponding to the number of years LG has been in Indonesia.

LG and the education ministry have also collaborated on two of the books to be distributed titled “Lilo and Gina's Tomato Plants” and “Let's Get to Know Shapes”, by adapting content development to the needs of the early childhood education level. Each PAUD programme will receive four book packages of three books.
Through the book packages, children will grow their insights through literacy skills and will learn life values that could help the development of Indonesia society in the long run, said Lee Taejin, President of LG Electronics Indonesia.
Taejin also mentioned that he hopes that better support for early childhood education will be the catalyst for a better standard of living in Indonesia and growth of the country.
Elementary school teachers will also get the chance to benefit from the MoU as LG and the education ministry will be distributing reference materials to support their curriculum and teaching activities.
The LG Loves Children programme is part of the company’s wider social care campaign, LG Loves Indonesia, which includes the initiatives LG Loves School and LG Love and Care.
As Indonesia ramps up its efforts to develop its economy, recently, the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) projected the generation of RM250 million in digital export opportunities, as stated by the organisation on it Facebook page.
This revenue is expected to come from 42 high-tech Malaysian companies’ who have recently participated in MDEC's programmes in Indonesia.
The programmes, called DEX Connex and FOX Xposure, which were created in partnership with KUMPUL Sinarmas Land, KUMPUL, Fintech Indonesia, Xcion, and Amvesindo, Indonesian entrepreneur ecosystem builder, were aimed at enhancing collaborative relationships between Malaysian and Indonesian high-tech companies.
