Geometry Indonesia's MD David Tay is stepping down from his role to return to his family in Singapore, after leading the agency for about two years. Tay (pictured left) joined the agency from Havas Worldwide Singapore in 2018, replacing Mike Forster who took on the role of MD at Geometry Global Korea. He also worked at BBDO Singapore and Saatchi & Saatchi.

Jesse Lin, CEO of Geometry APAC, thanked Tay for contributing greatly to its clients' success and left a very positive impression on the team, not only in Indonesia but also across the region. "He worked closely with WPP as well, helping to raise Geometry’s profile within the organisation. I wish him all the best in his future endeavours," Lin added.

Gaurav Arora (pictured right) has been named GM in Indonesia and is tasked to continue leading growth with a focus on change and transformation. Based in Jakarta, Arora will report to Kenny Loh, CEO of Geometry Malaysia. Loh will also overseee the business in Indonesia during the transition.

According to his LinkedIn, Arora was business director at Grey Indonesia for close to two years, working on clients including Sanofi, HSBC, and Verisign. He also worked at Grey Singapore for close to a decade, last helming the role of group account director, his LinkedIn said. Experienced in the Southeast Asia, India and China markets, the press statement said he has helped a range of local, regional and global clients in both fast-growing and sophisticated digital markets.

During his time at Grey, Arora has helped his key clients achieve strong organic growth especially through digital-led and experience-driven ideas, the statement added. Grey's spokesperson told Marketing Interactive that a search for Arora's replacement is in the pipeline.

"Today’s clients are looking for agency partners that know how to drive conversion and I believe Geometry’s focus on creative commerce brings success to the agency and client alike. I look forward to driving that success in Indonesia, which plays a key role in the region with its huge consumer market, high level of urbanization and fast-increasing per capita income," Arora said.

Loh explained that Arora has a proven record in leading organisations through periods of change and transformation. "In Indonesia we have demonstrated best-in-class activation services and Arora will transform the team into a pioneering agency that delivers solutions across all the channels and mediums where people are engaging with brands," he said. Loh added he is confident that Arora's wealth of digital and social experience will strengthen the seamless integration of online and offline.

Meanwhile, Lin said Arora brings a great combination of experience and passion to the role. He explained that the agency is focused on strengthening leadership and its offering across the region, to meet its clients’ needs as they are increasingly looking to drive growth at speed.

"At a time like this it’s a great pleasure to welcome Arora to the Geometry family. I believe under his leadership our Indonesia team will continue to deliver pioneering and brave work that thinks differently about our clients’ challenges, ultimately benefiting the whole region," he added.
