Le Creuset is partnering Pokémon for a special collection of Pokémon-inspired kitchenware, including cast iron and stoneware in selected countries and regions.

The cookware company cites Pokémon as an icon of “having a good time with friends and family”, with fans spanning across generations and borders. It aims to leverage Pokémon’s universal appeal by combining it with new designs to create unique, yet practical, kitchenware.

The Pokémon collection is meant to help families with small children and those who are new to enameled cast iron enjoy cooking. Le Creuset said it hoped the kitchenware would also help children in food education, and starting conversations during meals as it combines functionality with the world view of Pokémon.

Many exclusive items part of the collection have a direct reference to the iconic Poké balls, known for being tools to catch and contain Pokémon.

Among these items are the Pokémon rice pot and the Pokémon Marmite, both pots featuring Poké ball motifs, with the latter adorning line art depicting 23 Pokémon and 4 types of Poké balls, complemented by a radiant iridescent knob.

There are also Pokémon Poké balls and master balls on round dish plates, resembling the powerful spheres used in the actual game.

Other matching sets of plates, mugs and rice bowls are each adorned with the Poké ball logo and coloured based off iconic Pokémons: palm for Bulbasaur, flame for Charmander, blue for Squirtle, nectar for Pikachu and bluebell purple for Snorlax.

Brands all over the region have expressed interest in collaborating with the iconic franchise. Last month, 7-Eleven Hong Kong unveiled a new collectable programme featuring "Pokémon Builders", as part of its efforts to reach younger audiences.

The new collaboration features different types of Pokémon, with 30 builders and five special edition builders, all in a blind box with free redemption method.
