Kuala Lumpur Art Book Fair hands comms remit to RUBIX Comms for its third edition

Kuala Lumpur art book fair (KLABF) has partnered with boutique Communication consultancy, RUBIX Communications for its third edition. The agency is set to be the communication lead in driving end-to-end public and media relations support through the exhibition, it said in a statement.

Slated to be a three-day exhibition, from 8-10 December 2023, at Kuala Lumpur & Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall (KLSCAH), the annual KLABF seeks to invigorate the art book and independent creativity communities.

The fair showcases a diverse range of self-published art books, prints, literature and curated collections from local and international exhibitors, including Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia. Since its inaugural edition in 2021, KLABF has featured over 106 exhibitors and attracted over 5,100 visitors.

This year, KLABF has expanded and strengthened its team for its third edition, promising a more vibrant celebration of art books, zines, magazines, posters, photobooks and printed matters, alongside a line-up of workshops, talks and art shows. 

The founder and creative director of KLABF, Driv Loo noted that the team envisions the book fair to be a guiding star that unites the artistic communities, educational institutions and public across Asia, fostering a dynamic and diverse culture of art publishing in Malaysia's creative scene. “To turn this vision into reality, we hope to garner support from brands and talented marketing professionals to help us to expand our reach and inspire a new generation of art enthusiasts,” Loo added.

“Our hearts brim with excitement as we embark on a collaboration with KLABF, united by a collective goal to inspire positive impact and transformative growth in the creative scene. Together, we endeavor to unlock endless possibilities and build a thriving art and culture ecosystem”, said Hwei, chief consultant of RUBIX Communications.

Recently, Tesla Malaysia appointed GO Communications to handle its PR duties as it officially entered the Malaysian market. GO Communications spearheaded the launch of the EV (electric vehicle) brand. Peter De Kretser, the CEO of GO Communications, expressed profound gratitude for the opportunity, stating that being selected as Tesla’s official agency for the brand’s entry into Malaysia is a monumental landmark for the agency.
