JobStreet names new Indonesia managing director

SEEK, the parent company of online employment marketplaces Jobstreet and JobsDB, has named Varun Metha (pictured) as the new managing director of JobStreet Indonesia. According to SEEK, as of 15 September 2022, Mehta will lead the operations and business development of the company and carry out SEEK's strategic priorities to grow in Indonesia. He will be reporting to Lewis Ng, CEO of Asia, SEEK.
“Metha’s business acumen, depth of operating experience, and understanding of the local market make him the fit to lead our team of over 200 SEEKers in Indonesia to take JobStreet while continuing to solidify our leadership position in the market,” Ng added.
Previously, Metha worked with the likes of Viu, Vuclip and OnMobile in Indonesia and he brings his over 20 years of experience in the field of direct-to-consumer various industries across Asia, where he held various leadership positions managing P&L and business development.In addition, he spent the majority of his career driving hyper-growth and expansion for consumer products, leading companies to market leadership through strategic planning and execution.

Peter Bithos, CEO of Asia, SEEK explained added that the company has deepened its investment in Indonesia over the past year, with new product development focused on the Indonesian market, expanded brand and marketing investments for Jobstreet, and the expansion of our sales and operations team. "We just launched seekMAX, the largest, free Indonesian learning platform in the country, available within the JobStreet app with over 1,500 free original and curated edutainment content from top studios, influencers and international content providers made available in Bahasa Indonesia," Bithos said.
