Jay Chou's mother plans to list coffee brand Star Plus Legend in HK

Taiwanese singer Jay Chou's mother is planning to list bulletproof coffee brand on Hong Kong stock exchange, according to a document submitted last week. The application proof of Star Plus Legend said the company creates unique celebrity IPs that act as a source of revenue for the IP creation and operation business.
It is also one of its marketing tools that empower the company to become a fast-growing new retail operator in China with a focus on the sales of health management and skincare products through various channels, including primarily social eCommerce channels such as WeChat. Its business operation comprises several aspects including product development, IP creation and operation, marketing and promotion, and building and maintenance of distribution networks.
Star Plus Legend said the majority of its revenue for new retail business derived from sales of Modong coffee (é”胴咖啡), which was started nationwide distribution in April 2019. The company said Modong coffee is a type of bulletproof drink that is a high-fat and adequate-protein beverage specially designed for low-carbohydrate diet plan to meet the plan’s fat or energy ratio. In 2020, the company was the largest company in China’s bulletproof drink market in terms of gross merchandise volume, with a market share of 40.6%.
In the document, Star Plus Legend a number of reasons that set it apart from competitors. For example, it is a fast-growing new retail operator empowered by proprietary unique celebrity IPs that achieved rapid and significant growth. Its rapid and organic growth of the distribution network with a focus on key opinion customers development and private domain traffic marketing.
Moving forward, Star Plus Legend's goal is to "solidify and replicate the success of its unique IP-empowerment business model with additional core products and IP content." It will also offer consumers complementary food and drink products for their low-carb lifestyle as
well as skincare products with high quality key ingredients. Moreover, it will further diversify its product portfolio through product development; increase our brand exposure and product sales through a multi-channel network; and continue to create high-quality and unique new IP content to empower our new retail business.
Chou has been working on various projects over the years in addition to his career in the music industry. In January, his fashion brand PHANTACi launched PhantaBear, a total of 10,000 NFTs on 1 January. In early January, PhantaBear is the top project on OpenSea by sales volume in the past 24 hours. On 11 January, it was trading at an average price of 5.88 Ethereum (US$18,399) when its average price was still below 1 Ethereum on 1 January. On 3 January, Chou published a post on his Instagram. He wrote, "In 2022, I change the profile picture as the old one was uploaded months ago to feel what Metaverse is."
