IPG Mediabrands MY beefs up leadership with new appointments

IPG Mediabrands has appointed Cindy Eliza Vaz (pictured left) as its chief digital officer and Debica Sigamani (pictured right) as its chief talent officer.

In her role as chief digital officer, Vaz will be expanding the digitisation of Mediabrands Malaysia, spearheading the digital transformation efforts to offer a suite of qualitative programmatic, performance and tech solutions.

Prior to her role at Mediabrands, Vaz was the head of digital for Universal McCann Malaysia. Other feathers in her cap include being the APAC head of digital marketing at Huawei as well as senior manager of digital and direct distribution at AmGeneral Insurance as seen on her LinkedIn profile. 

The current climate in the digital world is an exciting one for her and her team, Vaz said, allowing them to harmonise and bring together the best of the digital worlds under the roof of a single digital strategy and delivering cutting-edge solutions.

Vaz said, “I look forward to raising the digital profile of Mediabrands, collaborating closely with UM and Initiative on our digital strategy and empowering clients to be more digitally savvy, while continuing to cultivate an ecosystem that nurtures more mentorship and coaching of young digital talents,” she added.

Taking on the role of chief talent officer, Sigamani’s main role will be to drive business growth and success while shaping the company’s talent strategy to push a culture of high performance and engagement. This is in addition to ensuring that a diverse and inclusive workplace is fostered.

Prior to Mediabrands, Sigamani worked at Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts as its director of human resources as gleaned from her LinkedIn profile. 

People are the company’s most important asset, Sigamani believes, and is hence committed to ensuring that it continues to evolve its talent function to create a culture that attracts and retains the best talent that ultimately drives business success.

Mediabrands Malaysia’s CEO, Bala Pomaleh, expressed his excitement regarding the two key promotions in order to shape the company’s growth opportunities in the coming year. Commenting on their strengths, he pointed out that Vaz’s strengths lie in digital innovation, strategy, data, and tech capabilities which will aid the company continue to drive digital excellence to meet our clients’ business needs, while focusing on transparency, accountability, and brand safety.

Regarding Sigamani's appointment, Pomaleh said that she has played an integral role in supporting Mediabrands as a trusted strategic partner, having working with him and the executive leadership team to drive the talent agenda forward.
