Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison deploys AI to optimise network during Ramadan and Eid

As Indonesia prepares for Eid, Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison integrates AI into its network to handle the festive surge in communication demand.
The heightened mobility during Ramadan and Eid typically leads to a substantial spike in data traffic, with customers relying on calls, messaging, and internet services to stay connected, the company said in a release.
Indosat has introduced Unparalleled Network Services Guaranteed, a network assurance initiative powered by AI-driven optimisation. This technology enables real-time traffic predictions, proactive capacity adjustments, reduced downtime, and accelerated issue resolution.

Vikram Sinha, president director and CEO of Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, highlighted the critical role of AI in the company's transformation. "AI not only enhances our customer's digital experience, but it also forms the foundation of Indosat's journey toward becoming an AI Native TechCo. Through AI, we ensure that every customer, wherever they are, enjoys the best connectivity to support their activities during Ramadan and Eid."
As part of this initiative, Indosat has introduced the Intelligent Network for Innovative and Transformational Experience (INFINITE)—an AI-powered network operating system that leverages cognitive learning. Users can expect faster, more stable, and more secure connectivity, ensuring a smooth digital experience throughout the holiday season.
Indosat's AI ambitions extend beyond telecommunications. In collaboration with NVIDIA and Accenture, the company is investing in the development of a sovereign AI infrastructure, designed to foster local innovation using Indonesian data, talent, and infrastructure.
Through its AI Factory and initiatives such as GPU Merdeka, Indosat is making AI more accessible to startups, enterprises, and government institutions. Furthermore, the company has committed to training one million individuals by 2027, equipping Indonesia's workforce with the skills required to thrive in the AI-driven digital economy.
"We want to build AI developed in Indonesia, by Indonesians, and for Indonesia. Together with NVIDIA and Accenture, we are ensuring that AI becomes the foundation for a more advanced future for Indonesia," said Sinha.
