Indonesian pharma firm Anugerah Pharmindo Lestari names new comms lead

Pharmaceutical company Anugerah Pharmindo Lestari (APL) has promoted Helen Marlina to head of corporate communications, brand and sustainability. Marlina was previously APL’s corporate communications manager. Before joining APL in 2019, she was with Watsons Indonesia as its brand and marcomms assistant manager for two years, her LinkedIn said.

In that role, Marlina worked with the head of marketing to develop and manage Watson’s marketing strategy for its house brand, identify business objectives and uncover growth opportunities. She also helped to position the Watsons brand in new markets in Indonesia and worked with the regional team to conceive and support the creative development of promotional materials as well as marketing programmes that promote the brand strategy to various customer and market segments globally, her LinkedIn added.

Her other responsibilities at Watsons included reviewing feedback and monitoring consistency of marketing offline and online plans and adjusting plans and tactics accordingly. Marlina was also in charge of developing and managing the strategic PR and handling PR crisis and issues, handling media launching and promotional offline events,as well as  setting up and testing CRM system and marketing promotions, her LinkedIn said. She also has experience as an external communication specialist and trade marketing officer at Hero Supermarket and Kalbe Nutritionals respectively, as seen on her profile.

APL is a member of Asian healthcare services provider Zuellig Pharma, having been in the Indonesian market since 1985. According to its website, APL has over 60,000 medical facilities across more than 400 cities. Last year, APL launched a centre of excellence in early February 2020. The centre seeks to develop new digital services and address solutions to the healthcare ecosystem in Indonesia. The facility also has three different temperature-controlled environments to protect the integrity of products. APL then managed to make the news in October last year for introducing the eZCooler, attest to its capacity to manage cold chain products and facilitate vaccine distribution, as previously reported by The Jakarta Post.
