Indomie serves up Ramadan ads in the day featuring empty plates

Indomie has unveiled a two-part ad for its consumers who are fasting during Ramadan. The first ad features an actor preparing a plate of Indomie, but shows an empty plate with no noodles. It is followed by a caption telling viewers that there is no noodles because they are fasting. A separate ad is then released with the same actor going through the same preparation, but this time with the Indomie. The second ad is accompanied a similar caption, but this time telling viewers the noodles are there because it is time to break fast. 

The ads are uploaded on Indomie's Facebook page, with the first ad posted at 10:30am during the fasting time and the second posted at 6:50pm. The ads are also accompanied with the captions "[Our] stomachs may be empty, but we can still have good intentions from home", encouraging viewers to stay at home during this period of time. The ads have garnered a total of 593 reactions (consisting of likes, laughs, and love) on Facebook and 215 shares at the time of writing. Indomie is a brand close to Indonesian consumers' hearts. Last month it was ranked fourth in YouGov's BrandIndex report that looks at the top 10 brands that have made the best impression on women. In February, it also ranked third in YouGov’s annual BrandIndex Buzz Rankings in Indonesia, making it the third-most talked about brand of the country in 2019.
