IKEA launches new store in Tsim Sha Tsui to promote sustainability

IKEA has expanded its presence in Hong Kong with the launch of its Tsim Sha Tsui Plan and order point, following last year’s opening of Tai Po Plan and order point. Located at K11 Art mall with a spacious 15,000-square-feet unit, the plan and order point (POP) focuses on promoting sustainable and healthy living. The shop operates from 11am until 9pm every day including public holidays.
To help customers customise a healthier and greener home living, IKEA has carefully selected products which sing out sustainability to fit in the global trend, and implemented a variety of new services, determined to turn the new POP into a one-of-its-kind, always-ontrend physical IKEA landmark.
The POP showcases more than a thousand products, among which are a big variety of sustainable home décor and products, delighting your living from beddings, kitchen utensils, storage and more. Energy-saving LED lightings are applied to create a bright and sustainable atmosphere.
The “Sustainability” zone, being the first and foremost opening theme, features over hundreds of sustainable furniture and accessories that match the concepts of green and low-carbon, including plants, beddings made from organic and renewable fabrics, and more; along with recommendations of handy kitchen utensils that help reduce and categorise waste, and save water and electricity.
Customers will learn tips about sustainability from the labels posted in the surroundings, and embrace green living while viewing the selection of green furniture and home décor. During the new opening period, customers with any purchase and “check-in” on social media will also be offered a copy of IKEA “This is how we live; US & Our planet” book. The book features eco-friendly living tips from dining, entertainment, home environment and other angles, to educate many people on how to lead a sustainable life.
Adrian Worth, managing director of Dairy Farm IKEA North Asia, explains: " We are excited to re-enter the heart of Yau Tsim Mong District after 30 years, and we aim to bring a more advanced and fresher shopping experience to our new customers. Located in K11 Art Mall, a place with good transportation links and an emphasis on creativity and artistic flair, we believe we can contribute to the already great shopping experience by offering a wide range of interesting and inspiring great designs with quality at affordable prices.”
