Hyatt Hotel Corporations has appointed Tammy Ng as its new vice president of marketing for Hyatt Asia Pacific.

In her new role, Ng will strategise and develop communications, brand marketing, loyalty, and digital plans for Hyatt in the Asia Pacific region, said Hyatt Hotel when MARKETING-INTERACTIVE reached out.

She will also collaborate closely with key regional and sub-regional leaders in operations, HR, development, finance, design services, and other commercial services disciplines.

As vice president of marketing for Hyatt Asia Pacific, Ng's remit covers Greater China, Southwest Asia, North and Southeast Asia and Pacific.

She is taking over the role from Karen Chung, who has assumed a new role as vice president of change management and employee experience at Hyatt Asia Pacific.

“I am dedicated to promoting and enhancing the reputation of Hyatt as a premier brand across Asia Pacific through initiatives that authentically highlight its distinctive culture of care, quality, and local expertise, strengthening its competitive advantage in this rapidly developing region,” said Ng of her inaugural Hyatt role when MARKETING-INTERACTIVE reached out.

“I intend to increase brand awareness of our portfolio, strategise and implement our loyalty program, and regionalise our digital program in Asia Pacific.”

Prior to her new appointment, Ng was the vice president for global marketing, kitchen and bath group at Kohler Co where she led global marketing and digital go-to market transformation strategies for the brand.

Her longest stint was at British tech company Dyson where she stayed at the company for nine years from 2013 to 2022. She started her journey at Dyson as head of marketing for Asia, before working her way up to managing director of Hong Kong and Taiwan.

In addition, Ng is an innovation advisory board member at Tangle Teezer. The advisory board, according to Ng on LinkedIn, provides unique perspectives and insights to support the progression of Tangle Teezer and foster closer collaboration with key business stakeholders.

Ng's appointment comes after Grand Hyatt appointed travel and lifestyle PR agencies GHC Asia and Accela Communications as part of its marketing strategy to elevate the hotel’s luxury positioning as well as to strengthen the hotel's creative vision and outreach.

The dual agency appointment will see the repositioning of the newly transformed Grand Hyatt Singapore to a grand living room and wellness haven in Orchard.
