Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) has appointed Branding Records as the curator of its communication and social media channels.
In a conversation with MARKETING-INTERACTIVE, a spokesperson from HKIA said Branding Records has been awarded the contract after a pitch earlier this year.
“Hong Kong International Airport looks forward to the collaboration with Branding Records to create more exciting social media campaigns for our travellers,” the spokesman said.
Meanwhile, Jacopo Pesavento, CEO of Branding Records said on LinkedIn: “It’s going to be an honour to be part of the great travel relaunch, and as a frequent flyer, I couldn’t be happier to see our work every time we take off!”
Founded in Hong Kong in 2013, the agency is specialised in brand building, creative services, marketing, strategy, design and implementation.
Back in July this year, HKIA handled over 3.8 million passengers during the month, a 14.9% increase compared to June 2023, according to its figures.
The daily average in July exceeded 120,000 passengers, recovering to 60% of the pre-pandemic level. Flight movements and cargo throughput in July saw month-on-month increases of 7.4% and 1.7%, respectively, to 24,030 movements and 361,000 tonnes.
Compared with the same month in 2022, passenger volume saw an eight-fold increase while flight movements doubled. All passenger segments grew significantly compared to July 2022 as passenger traffic continued its steady recovery. Traffic to and from Southeast Asia, Mainland China and Japan recorded the most substantial increases.
