The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) has partnered with various media platforms from China, Taiwan, Korea and Japan to feature influencers' first-person experiences in Hong Kong in their TV programmes.
This comes as Hong Kong finally opens up to the world and the HKTB has decided to collaborate with global media platforms to feature stars visiting Hong Kong in their entertainment programmes.
With the idea of "Seeing is believing", the HKTB has invited popular stars from China, Japan, South Korea, amongst others, to tell their experiences in Hong Kong through starring in certain entertainment and travel shows.
In Mainland China, HKTB has partnered with Tencent to launch a video series (再遇.香港), in which the host shared his first-person experience of taking the peak tram, riding on Ngong Ping 360 crystal cabin cable car, and visiting the Hong Kong Palace Museum and M+ Museum. The HKTB has also invited a number of influencers and Super fans from GBA to check in at various attractions under the themes of art and culture, rejuvenated attractions, food and wine, as well as neighborhood revitalisation.
While in Taiwan, the HKTB has invited Xiao Zhen (小禎) and Shawn Hu (胡釋安), hosts of Taiwanese gourmet programme “Super Taste” (食商玩家) to visit Hong Kong as one of the TV station's entertainment shows. The two were seen tasting food and enjoying the scenery across Victoria Harbour. They were also invited to visit theme parks, West Kowloon Cultural District and Shanghai Street.
The HKTB has also partnered with Fuji Television Network from Japan to invite hosts from Japanese television programme “NONSTOP!” to visit Hong Kong and celebrate the 12th anniversary of the programme, as well as discovering Hong Kong's attractions, including visiting theme parks, the West Kowloon Cultural District, and tasting street food.
Furthermore, Japanese mixed martial artist Yoshihiro Akiyama, who shot to fame after participating in the South Korean reality competition series on Netflix Physical 100, was also invited to stay in Hong Kong for a day tour, including riding on a tram, making a suit and having hot pot. Akiyama said he was attracted by the stunning views of Victoria Harbour and delicious Cha Shiu, according to the release.
The HKTB has also partnered with Korean fashion magazine Luxury to feature "Hong Kong classics" in its March issue. It also features Choi Minho, a member of the Korean boy group SHINee, posing at various Hong Kong attractions, including Wanchai Blue House, Lei Shengchun, and Hechang Dabao.
