Local telco HKT has promoted its vice president of strategy planning and execution Felix Tsui (pictured) to chief strategy officer of digital ventures, HKT. Tsui will be reporting to Monita Leung, CEO of digital ventures, HKT.
In a conversation with MARKETING-INTERACTIVE, Tsui said he will be responsible for planning Web3 projects, digital products, and strategy across HKT’s fintech, eCommerce and loyalty business. These businesses are all part of HKT digital venture’s portfolio.
One of the recent projects Tsui has been working on is the financial solution shortlisted by The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA). The solution is backed by tokenised real assets for participation in the inaugural e-HKD Pilot Programme.
This proposed solution is led by Boston Consulting Group (BCG), HKT Payment and ZA Bank. They will be joined by paywith.glass and Venture Smart Financial as a consortium to collectively develop and evaluate this application, leveraging the potential programmability feature of e-HKD.
The initiative will bring together key players from various industry verticals to foster long-term e-HKD development, leveraging their collective cross-industry experience and ensuring a diverse range of perspectives. The initial focus will be on leveraging e-HKD's potential features to empower new applications in a secured lending product, as part of the e-HKD Pilot Programme.
Tsui joined HKT back in 2021 as VP of strategy planning and execution. Prior to HKT, he was the founder of PICSO and vice president of construction Saas of Schneider Electric.
Don't miss: HKT loyalty, digital analytics CEO Alan Tsui resigns to pursue personal goals
Back in July last year, HKT underwent a reshuffle among senior executives, as its CEO of loyalty, digital and analytics Alan Tsui stepped down. While the company hasn't yet made an announcement, a check by MARKETING-INTERACTIVE saw that Tsui's bio has been removed from the management list.
In a conversation with MARKETING-INTERACTIVE, a HKT spokesperson has confirmed that Tsui has decided to leave the company to pursue other personal goals and a successor will be named in due course. As one of the members of HKT’s senior executive leadership team and capital investment committee, Tsui reported to the group managing director during his three years at HKT, according to his LinkedIn.
