HK star Stephen Chow launches Instagram account to recruit Web3 talent

Hong Kong actor-director Stephen Chow has created an Instagram account to recruit Web3 talents. According to the official post on Chow's Instagram, the actor shared a photo of himself writing a recruitment message in Chinese on a whiteboard saying that he was "looking for a bright Web3 talent in the darkness" and hoped that the talent can help him build a creative future, the post read. 

In terms of requirements for the position, he said that the person has to be familiar with Web3 and equipped with project management experience, intelligence and kindness. Many netizens commented that they would love to be interviewed by Chow, while some expressed their admirations for the star, a check by MARKETING-INTERACTIVE saw. 

Soon after Chow set up the account, he attracted more than 176K followers. Chow is renowned for starring in classic comedies such as Shaolin Soccer (2001) and Kung Fu Hustle (2004), he has also created a hashtag, #CreateWithStephen, for interested parties to tag him in their work.

This comes as the Hong Kong and global marketing scene has been abuzz with NFT and metaverse-related executions. For example, The Sandbox, a decentralised gaming virtual world and subsidiary of Animoca Brands, has collaborated with Softstar Entertainment, an iconic Taiwanese brand of classic PC games back in September. Softstar will purchase a parcel of virtual lands in The Sandbox to construct the Softstar MetaPark, where a myriad of stories, both traditional and futuristic, will be introduced to the Web3 ecosystem.

Back in July this year, international lingerie label 6IXTY8IGHT has made its foray into Web3 with the upcoming launch of 2,000 unique Bold Bunny NFTs. According to 6IXTY8IGHT, the collection comes as part of the label's 20th anniversary celebrations and represents a young woman’s coming-of-age journey in feeling empowered and self-confident and supports the free, creative expression of style and beauty. 

Similarly, L’Oréal Group’s YSL Beauté brand was also entered the Web3 ecosystem by embarking on a digital journey to explore a new NFT wallet in June this year. As part of the initiative, several NFTs will be created with Wunderman Thompson and France-based web3 solutions platform Arianee web3 solutions.
