H+K names Robbie Yang as VP of growth in China

Hill+Knowlton Strategies (H+K) has appointed Robbie Yang as vice president of growthin China. In this position, he will be responsible for driving business growth in mainland China and Hong Kong.

The agency said Yang is a seasoned corporate and marketing communications professional. He will bring more than 15 years of experience in public relations, marketing and digital communications at brands and agencies. Most recently, he was vice president of branding and marketing at Shanghai Feiren Network Technology and served as head of marketing and PR Communications for AC Milan China, as well as head of communications at Infront China. 

Yang also worked for Ogilvy Chinafor 10 years, handling accounts such as Mercedes Benz, Jaguar Land Rover and Intel.

Throughout my career I have accumulated in-depth knowledge, strategic communications skills, as well ascomplex account management capabilities in a wide range of sectors including sports, luxury automotive, IT, leisure, fashion, movies and FMCG,” said Yang.

I’m excited to bring my skillset and thinking to H+K to support the agency’s continued growth in the fast-moving Chinese market,” he added. 

Yang will be based in Beijing. He will  report to Jun Xu, CEO of H+K China, and Sam Lythgoe, global chief business development officer for H+K.

Xu said, “We at H+K China are eager to work with Yang to accelerate our growth, enhance H+K China’s branding in the marketplace and advance our collective capabilities in winning and creating real value for clients.”

Last year, H+K appointed Jason Cheang and Vylvianne Devajothi as its director of integrated communications and regional PR services lead for Singapore respectively. Cheang joined the team to drive H+K Asia’s Innovation + Creativity Hub, while Devajothi was tasked to grow H+K’s regional clients through consistent and impactful communication programmes rooted in insights and creativity. Both Cheang and Devajothi reported to Matthew Briant, head of H+K’s Innovation + Creativity Hub and managing director of H+K Singapore.
