Havas, Moonfolks join forces to drive integrated marketing in Indonesia

Havas has announced a strategic alliance with Indonesian independent agency Moonfolks, marking a significant move to bolster its footprint in Southeast Asia. This partnership, operating under the newly formed entity Havas Moonfolks, will merge Havas' media expertise with Moonfolks' strengths in digital and integrated marketing, offering brands a comprehensive approach to advertising and brand strategy in Indonesia.

By aligning talent, platforms, and capabilities, the collaboration aims to provide integrated solutions that leverage data, media, and creativity to drive results. Despite this partnership, Moonfolks will retain its independence as a creative agency under the leadership of its founder, CEO, and president director, Anish Daryani (pictured, left).

"The industry has created significant complexity by separating creative and media functions into different agencies. I've witnessed firsthand how disconnected these teams can be, even when working on the same client, or within the same holding company," Daryani said.

"By uniting creative and media, we are leading the charge in challenging the traditional approach, bringing integrated agency teams together to solve business challenges for our clients. This collaboration provides a proven model that combines creative content, effective distribution, and a higher ROAS for brands," he added.

Through Havas Moonfolks, the combined agencies will offer a broader range of services, covering traditional and digital advertising, social media, performance marketing, programmatic buying, and brand strategy.

Additionally, the partnership paves the way for the introduction of Havas' proprietary tools and platforms in Indonesia, including Havas Market (eCommerce), Havas Play (content and activation), and CSA (data and technology).

At Havas Moonfolks, Daryani will take on the role of president director and will work alongside Stefanus Christofer as general manager. Daryani will also collaborate closely with Pankaj Nayak, president of Havas Media Southeast Asia, under the guidance of Rana Barua (pictured, right), group CEO for Havas India, Southeast Asia, and North Asia.

"Indonesia is one of Southeast Asia's largest and fastest-growing markets, making it a strategic priority for us. This strategic alliance with Moonfolks marks a significant milestone in our growth journey and strengthens our position to lead with our Converged strategy, amplifying our ability to deliver impactful solutions for brands in local, regional, and global markets," said Barua.

Havas, founded in 1835 in Paris, is a global communications group with operations in over 100 markets, integrating media, creativity, and data under its Converged strategy. Meanwhile, Moonfolks was established in 2024 following Daryani's acquisition of M&C Saatchi Indonesia and has worked with clients including TikTok, Unilever, and Mastercard.
