PR and public affairs agency Grayling Singapore has appointed Danny Tan as its MD. This comes after Tan (pictured) stepped down from his role as SVP at Omnicom PR Group. Grayling has offices in Asia, Europe and the Americas. Aside from Singapore, it is also present in Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, the Philippines, Hong Kong and South Korea, among other countries. MARKETING-INTERACTIVE has reached out to Tan and Grayling for comment.
Tan said that he is excited to join Grayling and bring new leadership to its Singapore office. "I look forward to partnering with our expert marketers and communicators both across Asia and indeed the world, to deliver best-in-class integrated communications support, focused on creating advantage for our clients. Grayling's global network is industry leading, with a host of award and client wins in 2021, including Converse and The Lego Group. By combining creativity with corporate expertise, I know that we will help clients deliver measurable impact at scale," he added.
He first joined Omnicom PR Group in March 2017, where he took on the role of VP. Tan said he had joined Omnicom PR Group as he had wanted to try his hand at working with more consumer-facing brands, which was also where " where most of the sophisticated integrated communications work was for PR practitioners".
Tan also brings with him about eight years of experience in handling government, tech and B2B clients. Prior to joining Omnicom PR Group, Tan worked at MSLGROUP as associate director, where he lead the growing government communications and public affairs practice, served as lead counsel for regional communications programmes across Asia Pacific for Fortune 100 companies, and collaborated with Publicis Groupe agencies on new business opportunities, with a focus on integrated communications campaigns; as stated on his LinkedIn.
Prior to that, he held the role of senior consultant where, in addition to his former duties as account manager, he led B2B and B2C digital programmes from strategy to execution; including social media audits, designing social conversation calendars and community management across Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
According to Tan's LinkedIn, he has also worked as a senior associate at Burson-Marsteller, where he handled communications and account management, media relations, digital projects and in-country marketing for the Singapore market.
