Indonesian SME Restu Mande, known for its authentic rendang dishes, made its mark at the World Economic Forum (WEF) 2025 in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland, with support from Grab Indonesia.
The company's rendang beef and rendang egg chips were a hit at the Indonesia Pavilion, drawing attention for their high quality and unique flavours, Grab said in a press release.
Restu Mande has earned global certifications, including FDA approval, GMP, and HACCP, allowing the business to expand into markets such as Papua New Guinea, Qatar, Australia, and Singapore.

"By joining as a Grab Merchant Partner since 2020, we've been able to reach more customers. As a result, our sales increased by 300% compared to pre-pandemic revenue," said Utami Ichda Ramadhanty, Restu Mande's business development director.
Neneng Goenadi, country managing director of Grab Indonesia, commented: "We're proud to support Restu Mande's journey, from digitising their business to driving significant growth. Their participation at the Indonesia Pavilion reflects our commitment to supporting local SMEs and proving that homegrown innovations can thrive globally."
Restu Mande said it focuses on both profit and social impact, empowering housewives to work without leaving home. The company also collaborates with local farmers in Bandung to source high-quality ingredients directly, improving farmers' incomes while ensuring product quality.
Looking ahead, Restu Mande plans to expand further globally, preparing for EFSA certification to enter the European market. "We hope to inspire other SMEs to take their local products global," said Ramadhanty.
This partnership aligns with Grab's broader strategy of supporting MSMEs and empower local communities in Indonesia. Through Grab's Kota Masa Depan programme, for example, MSMEs receive the necessary training and resources to expand their reach, benefitting around 26,000 businesses in nine cities, including Kupang and Garut.
Official data reveals that Indonesia has 64.2 million MSMEs, contributing 61% of the national GDP and employing 97% of the workforce, or around 119.6 million people. However, only 17.5 million MSMEs have entered the digital ecosystem and leveraged eCommerce.
