Grab MY honours drivers and delivery partners with series of stories and comics

Grab Malaysia is paying tribute to Grab drivers and delivery partners through its month-long Grab Lejen appreciation campaign. The campaign features a series of stories that were shared from the public of Grab drivers and delivery partners performing feats that were beyond their job scope. Done in collaboration with The Clan, this campaign is in conjunction with Grab's "Legend of Grab Awards", where seven winners would receive trophies and gifts.

The campaign begins with a video that briefly tells the story of three legends, leading to three live stream events meant exclusively for Grab’s drivers and delivery partners. Grab Lejen is expressed in the style of comic heroes as the story unfolds in panels and still frames to dramatise the selfless acts by the drivers.

Country marketing head of Grab Malaysia, Hassan Alsagoff, said its partners have shown despite the trying year, there is nothing the country is unable to overcome with kindness. "With this annual initiative, Grab Malaysia hopes to continue honouring its drivers and delivery partners for their incredible acts of service and kindness while serving fellow Malaysians," added Alsagoff.

Meanwhile, The Clan’s business chief, Syed Nasir, said that as an agency that is all about the people, this campaign really came from the heart. "There are too many unsung heroes that deserve the accolade and we are honoured to be given the opportunity to shine some light on these heroic acts," he added.

In addition, Grab has collaborated with Malaysian cartoonist Ujang to design comics inspired by the best true stories Malaysians have shared of driver and delivery partners going above and beyond the call of duty. These comics will be revealed after Grab’s weekly livestream events throughout the month with the real life partners receiving exclusive rewards from Grab.

At the same time, Grab is also rewarding all partners by offering exclusive and relevant rewards on GrabBenefits in conjunction with the month-long celebration. These benefits are on top of what is currently already available for partners on GrabBenefits and were curated based on partners’ feedback on what would meet their needs best such as petrol rebates, vehicle maintenance and healthcare coverage. Some of the deals offered include fuel bonuses, discounted rates on car batteries and smartphones as well as on cleaning and hygiene products, among others.

Earlier this month, Lazada and Grab joined forces to provide same-day delivery services for consumers in Singapore. This allowed Lazada's merchants to tap on GrabExpress to deliver their offerings to consumers within the day. The partnership also increases earning opportunities for GrabExpress' delivery partners. The same-day delivery option via GrabExpress is currently available to over 50 Lazada merchants, including Aroma Truffle, JBL and Shine Korea, among others.

At the same time, Grab has also partnered with The Walt Disney Company Southeast Asia in November to launch a slew of Disney-themed rewards and experiences for Grab users in Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. Grab and Disney will also be launching localised co-branded campaigns, including a year-end festive campaign where Grab users stand a chance to win exclusive Frozen and Toy Story merchandise that will unlock an Augmented Reality experience. This will be launched in all the markets except Indonesia.
